Julie Albrecht

Julie Albrecht’s professional background lies primarily in the private sector of nutrition and dietetics. Her career spans 30 years, working as a Private Practitioner, Lecturer, and as a Consultant to Private Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Corporate Groups and Sporting Organisations.
Her experience as a clinician is diverse, drawn from a wide range of conditions encountered while working as a private practitioner and in the clinical setting of private hospitals. These include the dietetic management of patients in the areas of Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes, CVA, Renal Disease, Enteral Feeding, Surgery – gastrointestinal, Oncology, Paediatrics, Maternity, Gastroenterology, Allergies and Food Sensitivities, Malnutrition and Eating Disorders.; ME/CFS
Julie has a breadth of experience with Private Hospitals and Nursing homes, where her responsibilities included individual patient management, menu planning and assessment and report compilation for accreditation, staff Inservice education and Quality Assurance Programs.
Julie has a diversity of lecturing experience and is a Lecturer for Griffith University – Health Science Unit – Dietetics, and has been employed as a consultant lecturer for Centre Of Health Promotion, Surf Life Saving Queensland, Queensland Rugby League and various sporting organisations and schools.
Julie has also had experience in the areas of Corporate Health and Stress Management, co-facilitatedseminars with City Gym – Tasmania and North Queensland Radio – Townsville and as a consultant dietitian – Couran Cove Total Living Centre – Health Management Program.
Her experience also encompasses the sporting arena, working as a consultant for sporting organisations where her responsibilitiesincluded individual athlete assessment and dietary prescription, education, and the management of the provision of catering services.
Julie is also the co-author of the Gut Buster Barbecue / Weight Loss cookbooks.
Sarah Markham
B.Sc. (Hons) Nutrition. A.P.D
Sarah’s professional career started in the UK where she spent 17 years working in the National Health System (NHS) both in hospitals and the community. Before coming to Australia she was Manager of a large Dietetic Service and was responsible for the review and implementation of quality assurance programs, audit of dietetic practice, menu planning and support of Clinical staff and student Dietitians.
She has always held a clinical role and has experience in a wide range of conditions requiring nutrition and dietetic intervention. This includes management of patients in the areas of enteral feeding, gastroenterology, malnutrition, care of the elderly, surgery, burns and spinal injury, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, overweight and obesity, renal disease, mental health and eating disorders and oncology.
Sarah came to Australia with her family and has worked in Private Practice with Julie for 13 years. She has used her knowledge base to manage a wide variety of clients and she has further specialised in the area of Bariatric Surgery. Working with numerous Bariatric Surgeons on the Gold Coast has enabled Sarah to develop significant experience to fully support Bariatric patients throughout their weight loss journey.
Sarah has a wealth of experience in managing gastrointestinal problems and has a passion for promoting women’s health through good nutrition. Previously she was also involved in a project implementing nutrition screening in the community particularly focusing on the elderly and currently provides a clinical service to various Gold Coast Residential Care Homes.
Sarah uses her wide experience in to translate the science of nutrition into practical advice and achievable goals through mindfulness and behaviour change strategies. Sarah thrives on the challenge of complex issues and loves spending time supporting her clients to achieve their personal goals.
